Ofcom have reprimanded Starz TV after they aired the Nicki Minaj video for 'Beez In The Trap' without warning viewers the footage caused a danger to epilepsy sufferers.

The video was aired on April 27th and was seen by an Ofcom official during a routine monitoring.

Despite a lack of pre-warning, the 'Beez In The Trap' video aired on the Sky channel. Ofcom claims that the promo features "five distinct sequences" that exceeded the brightness limits set out in its guidelines.

Issuing a statement on their decision to reprimand Starz, Ofcom said: "While Ofcom acknowledges that the licensee broadcast this music video in good faith, it is the responsibility of all broadcasters to ensure compliance with the Code before transmitting any material."

Adding: "On this occasion the licensee had failed to check and correctly identify broadcast material as problematic in advance of transmission."

Starz TV has gone into administration since the video aired, due to unrelated circumstances. Ofcom decided the action should still be taken however.

Meanwhile, Minaj recently hit the headlines when she called out the 'liars' who leaked her backstage behaviour at T In The Park and said she hopes they 'choke'.
