iTunes have confirmed that they will release a new compilation featuring The Beatles 'Most powerful rock songs'.

The 14-track compilation will be titled 'Tomorrow Never Knows' and was released through the digital retailer yesterday (July 24).

A host of musicians have spoken about the iconic band to accompany the new compilation, including Maroon 5, Linkin Park and Foo Fighter's Dave Grohl.

Discussing his love for the band, Grohl states: "If it weren't for The Beatles, I would not be a musician."

"The Beatles seemed to be capable of anything. They knew no boundaries, and in that freedom they seemed to define what we now know today as 'Rock and Roll'."

Songs set to feature on 'Tomorrow Never Knows' include 'Paperback Writer', 'Back In The USSR', 'Helter Skelter' and 'Savoy Truffle'.

The Beatles ongoing value to the music industry was illustrated recently when a rare vinyl copy of their debut US album made over $15,000 at auction.
