A line from Blur's song 'For Tomorrow' which was sprayed onto a pavement in London's Primrose Hill has been removed by local authorities.

The offending fraffiti saw the lyric 'and the view's so nice' sprayed onto the ground by an Australian tourist in 2000 and had remained there ever since until it was cleaned up last week.

Upset at what they see as their area losing some of its character, the line has been re-sprayed on but the Royal Parks Agency has said it will continue to remove any further graffiti.

Speaking to the Camden New Journal, a spokesperson for the Royal Parks said: “The attempt last weekend to reproduce a graffiti Blur lyric was made without consultation with The Royal Parks, or any other local stakeholders, so the area will be cleaned. The Royal Parks has completed a project to improve the landscape at the summit of the Hill and has included an inscription there."

The spokesperson went on to say that said inscription is from poet William Blake: "The Blur lyric was considered but was beaten by a line from William Blake: “I have conversed with the spiritual sun. I saw him on Primrose Hill”. I hope that people who visit the Hill appreciate this in the way that some people appear to have appreciated the Blur lyric.”

Meanwhile, Blur recently announced a tiny gig at another London landmark - iconic punk venue the 100 Club.
