Paul Weller and Miles Kane show off their 'mod' style as models in John Varvatos' new ad campaign.

One is at the beginning of a burgeoning career, the other is firmly established as a true musical icon; both are known for their acute sartorial style.

Designer John Varvatos has wanted to work with ‘Modfather’ Weller for a long time. Talking about the former Jam frontman, the designer said “I think he's one of the most iconic singer-songwriters in the world and he's an ever-changing man; he's always on the move."

Miles Kane, whose solo effort ‘The Colour Trap’ was one of the UK’s highest selling debut albums, has said that it was a “whole lot of fun” working with Weller; as he is “a musician he has looked up to and learnt from.”

Apparently the inspiration for the photo shoot and ad campaign came from a 1980 photo of Weller with fellow ‘Mod’ style icon, Pete Townshend.

The shoot took place in New York, scroll down to watch the official film.

When asked what the biggest fashion faux-pas a man can make is, Weller said that wearing trainers with suits doesn’t do it for him, and he can never condone the wearing of cowboy boots.
