Alex James has revealed the benefits of having been in Blur for 24 years - they no longer need to rehearse ahead of their live performances.
The Blur bassist has revealed that the band are so familar with each other and their own back catalogue of music, that preparations for their Hyde Park show will be minimal.
"The amazing thing is, we don't seem to need that much rehearsal. It's still totally locked in from all those years of playing together," said James in an interview with The Sun.
"When we first started out together, being in a band was all we wanted to do and it was always approached with a great sense of joy and fun.
"It's great to leave it then be able to come back to it with that spirit we had in the beginning. We all just get really excited."
Blur perform at Hyde Park on 14 August 2012 as part of the BT London Live concerts for the Olympic Games.
