Lady Gaga has spoken of her excitement at landing her first movie role, starring in new Robert Rodriguez movie, Machete Kills.
The news was confirmed on Twitter last night with both Rodriguez and Gaga Tweeting about the role. Gaga will play a character called 'La Chameleon' in the film, due for release in 2013. You can see a character poster, as shared by Rodriguez, below.
Posting on Twitter, Rodriguez said: "I just finished working with @LadyGaga on @MacheteKills , she kicked SO MUCH ASS! Holy Smokes. Blown away!"
Meanwhile, Tweeting about her role, Gaga added: "Yes its true, I will be making my debut as an actress in the amazing Machete Kills by @RODRIGUEZ I'M SO EXCITED!!! AH! Filming was insane."
Machete Kills boasts an all star cast and will see Gaga appear opposite feature Amber Heard, Mel Gibson, Jessica Alba and Zoe Saldana.. Rodriguez also revealed in June that he has cast Charlie Sheen to play the President of the USA in the movie.
Another movie role of Gaga's might not be as straight forward however, with the news that Mitch Winehouse wants £10m for her to make a film of daughter Amy's life.
Gaga also hit the headlines this week when she Tweeted her support for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson amidst the reports she cheated on him with the director of Snow White and The Huntsman, Rupert Sanders.
