Lana Del Rey performed a cover version of Nirvana's 'Heart Shaped Box' in Australia last night - scroll down the page to see the performance in full.

Taking to the stage at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Del Rey performed the grunge ballad in her distinctive wronged 50's glamour girl style, layering the song with strings and atmospherics.

Of course, this move is hardly likely to endear LDR to certain sections of the internet who already have her pinned as all sorts of negative things but we kind of like it. Here's hoping a studio version ends up on the deluxe edition of 'Born To Die' when it is released later this year.

The video for 'Born To Die' single 'Summertime Sadness' recently hit the headlines, showing a lesbian relationship between Lana and actress Jamie King.

Check out the 'Heart Shaped Box cover below.
