Madonna has blamed 'a few thugs' for the ugly scenes after her recent show in Paris - which saw empty bottles hurled on stage and audience members demanding their money be refunded and calling the singer a 'sl*t'.
Fans took offence after the show - which cost fans between 80 and 280 Euros and was broadcast live on YouTube, lasted just 45 minutes. The show was an additional date to her current MDNA world tour, which her representative later described as 'fabulous'.
Madonna has now blamed 'thugs' for the uproar after the short show, writing on her official website to explain the situation.
"Playing the Olympia was a magical moment for me and it was real treat to do this special show for my fans and be so close to them," wrote Madonna, explaining her side of the situation. "Unfortunately at the end of the show - after I left the stage - a few thugs who were not my fans rushed the stage and started throwing plastic bottles pretending to be angry fans.
"The press reports have focused on this and not the joyous aspect of the evening. But nothing can take away or ruin this very special evening for me and my fans. When I looked out in the audience, everyone I saw had a smile on their face. I look forward to having this wonderful experience again."
