Lady Gaga has issued a threat to current US No.1 star Carly Rae Jepsen, after the 'Call Me Maybe' singer surpassed Gaga's 'Born This Way' chart run on the American Billboard charts.

'Call Me Maybe' has now spent seven weeks at No.1 in America - with 'Born This Way' spending six at the top in 2011. Lady Gaga issued a mock threat to Carly Rae Jepsen on Twitter, which was both a cleverly disguised congratulations and a teaser for her upcoming material.

"@carlyraejepson (sic) I SEE you just swooped in and broke my BORN THIS WAY record of the most weeks at #1.," Gaga tweeted. "DONT GET COMFORTABLE IM COMING FOR YOU"

Lady Gaga last week premiered new track 'Nothing On (But The Radio)' to a handful of fans from her car. The track is thought to be a new version of a 2010 demo.

Carley Rae Jepsen was last week in the centre of two potential sex scandals, as a sex tape was said to feature the star - before photos of the star were said to have been stolen from her home computer.
