Sigur Ros began their world tour in Philadelphia on Sunday night (29 July, 2012) and have revealed a stunning new video showing their journey from Iceland to the US. Watch it below.
The band are touring in support of their UK Top Ten album Valtari, which was released in May this year. The 36-date tour covers the globe - but has just one UK date, the band's Bestival performance on 9 September, 2012.
The minute and a half long video shows the Icelandic stars rehearsing for their tour in Reykjavik, before spectacular scenes of the band performing the outdoor show to their US fans, with a laser from the band's stage illuminating the clouds about the performance.
The track featured on the video is 'Varúð', which is taken from Valtari.
Valtari is the band's sixth album, and was released after a four year break as the band pursued individual projects, including frontman Jonsi's solo album. Speaking to Gigwise earlier in 2012, Jonsi told us: "We needed a long break after we had been touring so much, for many years. I think we were tired and we had a break because everyone was having a baby! I used the time to make an album with my boyfriend and also my solo album, so we took a good break but it was really nice to come back with the guys again and start working. It felt like coming home."
