It has been confirmed that a 24 year old man died on Saturday (Juy 28th) afternoon at the Festival in Warwickshire.
Paramedics were called to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead at 4:40 pm. It is yet unclear as to the cause of death with the police describing the death as “unexplained”, but a full post-mortem is taking place today.
This is the first death at Global Gathering in its 12 years of operation. The organisers of the event have issued a statement, saying: "Everybody at Global Gathering is deeply saddened by this tragic loss of life. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends at this time. We are assisting Warwickshire Police with their ongoing investigation."
Afrojack, Magnetic Man, Annie Mac and Armin Van Buuren all performed at the electronica festival.
