Dr Dre has bypassed the Olympic IOC rules to send Beats By Dre headphones to Team GB athletes.

The brand delivered a set of Union Flag themed headphones to Tom Daley and tennis player Laura Robson, among others. Daley was seen wearing them on-screen while Butler posted a tweet thanking the brand which she later deleted.

This is because of Rule 40 which prevents Olympic athletes from promoting their individual sponsors.

The IOC have not yet commented.

Meanwhile, it was revealed that the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Emeli Sande and Arctic Monkeys received just £1 for performing at the Olympic opening ceremony last week.
