Blur performed their first ever 6 Music session last night, performing live at Maida Vale studios for a tiny audience of fans.

The band, led by Damon Albarn, performed a short set for 200 fans lucky enough to find themselves in the tiny venue.

Opening with 'Jubilee', Blur went on to perform fan favourites such as 'Trim Trabb' and 'Intermission' the band also performed the 2012 singles 'Under The Westway' and 'The Puritan'. Admitting to some trepidation, Damon Alarn told the audience, plus people listening live on the radio and online, "When you've been away for a while it's quite nerve-racking."

However, with songs as strong as 'Beetlebum', 'Out Of Time', 'End Of A Century' and 'The Universal' to end on, perhaps those nerves were ill placed.

Blur will play a series of small gigs, including a night at London's 100 Club later this week, before marking the end of the Olympic Games with a massive gig in Hyde Park on August 12th.
