Biffy Clyro have spoken out about their new single 'Stingin Belle', saying the single reveals how 'over the top' their new album Opposites is.
The Scottish band gave Zane Lowe the worldwide exclusive first play of 'Stingin' Belle' last night (July 31).
Describing 'Opposites' as a 'weird' album, Simon Neil of the group told Lowe that 'Stingin' Belle' is a good representation of what fans can expect when the record is released later this year.
"It was one of the first songs that really clicked when we were recording it... it represents the record... It shows how over-the-top the record is," he said, Adding: "It might be our last really over the top record."
"We're still keeping things musical, still being as weird as we've always been."
'Opposites' was originally due to be a doubel album, titled ‘The Land At The End Of Our Toes’ and ‘The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones.’, but that plan was scrapped. Check out an album trailer here.
Biffy Clyro will perform live in London this September as part of the iTunes festival. Have a listen to 'Stingin' Belle', complete with bagpipe solo, below.
