Nicki Minaj has been accused of snubbing an after-gig appearance at a nightclub even though promoters claim she was paid in full beforehand.

The promoters of Zouk nightclub in Dallas, Texas claim they paid Minaj $30,000 to appear after her gig at the Verizon Centre close to the venue.

The star took to Twitter on the evening of the scheduled appearance to write, "No afterparty tonight barbz". She then went on to write "S/O (shout out) to the promoters who sold tkts under false pretenses tho...".

The owner of the club claims Minaj was paid in full beforehand, and that she snubbed the appearance that was organised by outside promoters.

Zouk spokesperson Matt Cislo told a local news station: "We looked at their (promoter's) contracts, the wire transfer, we had seen everything; that's why we went through with the show.

"From my understanding, she was outside, she had shown up, her security had done a walk through and she just decided no to come in.

"As soon as everyone found out she wasn't showing up on Twitter they were messaging us, text message, emails, you know why are you putting on a fake show? Just gives us a bad rep."

Minaj has attracted much media attention recently, most notably for her supposedly scandalous behaviour at some of the summer's festivals. The 'Starships' singer demanded a whole caravan at V Festival just to house her extensive collection of wigs. The rapper has also denied claims that she complained the grass at T In The Park was too long.
