The Stone Roses are rumoured to be announcing both an Olympics show in London and a new album release in 2013 this week.

According to The Sun, Ian Brown, Mani, John Squire and Reni will reportedly play an as yet unknown venue in the capital in association with Adidas.

Meanwhile, reports that the iconic Manchester group will release a new studio album have again gathered pace with the paper claiming that the band have 'felt the old magic' when rehearsing for their recent festival dates and are keen to get recording.

"John and Ian have been sending each other ideas for over a year now. During rehearsals they have tried some new songs and really felt that the old magic was still there with the songwriting," a source told the paper.

Adding: “They have decided they will give it another spin with new music next year.”

Meanwhile, high quality footage of The Stone Roses at Manchester's Heaton Park earlier this Summer has been revealed. You can get an HD look at the famous gig here.
