HBO has announced that a new documentary celebrating 50 years of The Rolling Stones will be aired in the Autumn.

Brett Morgan, director of multi award winning documentary 'The Kid Stays in the Picture' has directed the latest in a long line of Rolling Stones documentaries.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Morgan talked about the meticulous research process for the film: "We've been looking under every rock, going through their archives. It will be music never heard before, and I've conducted 50-plus hours of interviews so far. By the time we're done, they will be the most extensive group interviews they've ever done."

There has been much speculation recently over whether the band would be performing any live dates in the coming months. Mick Jagger recently said that the band turned down the oppurtunity to play at the Olympics because they hadn't had enough practice.

However, speaking to The Evening Standard, Jagger said:"You will definitely be seeing us all together soon. It's been great fun being back together and there are a lot of memories in here. I can't believe it's been 50 years. We've been hanging out together, seeing quite a bit of each other and we want to do some gigs."
