Blur last night (2 August) performed an intimate gig to just 350 fans at London's 100 Club, dusting off lesser known songs at the Oxford Street venue for ticket winners.
The reformed group are warming up toward a huge gig in London's Hyde Park on August 12th and used the Oxford Street gig to dust off some of the songs their hardcore fans know and love.
Leaning heavily on their 'Modern Life Is Rubbish' album, tracks including 'Oily Water' and 'Colin Zeal', the latter played for the first time since 1999, were performed by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree.
Opening the incredibly hot gig with 'Girls & Boys', Blur did play some of the better known material, such as 'Beetlebum' and 'For Tomorrow', as well as new song 'The Puritan'.
Albarn was in good form throughout the night, reminded how he wrote 'Jubilee' whilst walking down Oxford Street and even borrowing an audience members glasses for comedy effect.
Ending with new single 'Under The Westway' Blur finished the hour long set with a run through the jazzy 'Intermission' sending fans off into the night. The group continue their warm up shows in Wolverhampton on Sunday (Aug 5).
