The Darkness used giant plastic breasts to hide cocaine on stage at the height of their fame.

The model breasts were built in order to carry frontman Justin Hawkins onto the stage at the start of the band’s 2006 tour.

But guitarist Dan Hawkins told Q magazine that was not the only reason they were built.

Hawkins said: “I think the main purpose of that craft was he [Justin] could take cocaine within it.”

He went on to talk about the band’s hedonistic antics on the tour, adding: “I'm not going to lie to you; that tour was the most debauched fun I've ever had.

“To give you an idea, at one point our tour manager would be sat on the bus completely naked except for a black Gucci coat. That was accept to us. And he was in charge!”

The Darkness recently reveale their cover of Radiohead classic ‘Street Spirit (Fade Out)’ from their new album, Hot Cakes.
