Olympics cyclist Chris Hoy has thanks UK dance duo The Chemical Brothers for his Gold medal win at the London 2012 Olympics, revealing he listened to their music before riding to victory in the Olympic cycling.
Hoy scored his fifth gold medal at the London Velpark this week in the Team Sprint with Jason Kenny and Philip Hindes. When asked what he had been listening to before the race, he revealed The Chemical Brothers were his warm-up band of choice.
"It was 'Escape Velocity' by The Chemical Brothers," said Hoy, reports The Daily Record. "I'd like to give my thanks to The Chemical Brothers."
Chemical Brothers are among a number of bands who have contributed tracks the the London 2012 Olympics. Along with their tune 'Theme For The Veledrome' and Muse's official Olympic theme 'Survival', Dizzee Rascal's 'Power', Delphic's 'Good Life' and 'Good Morning To The Night' by Elton John vs Pnau have also been contributed to the games.
