Stars including Cheryl Cole and Example have shown their support for Team GB following a spectacular day of success at the Olympic Games yesterday (August 4).
Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Greg Rutherford all picked up gold medals in their own individual events, capping a momentous 24 hours that saw the host nation collecting six golds in total.
Taking to Twitter after Jessica Ennis earned the top prize in the heptathlon and Mo Farah defied expectations and won gold in the 10,000 metres, Cheryl Cole posted: "Congratulations @J_ennis you did your country proud!" Adding: "YESsssss MO!!! Come on #teamGB."
Example got into the action too Tweeting: "ENNISSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Go on girl."
Meanwhile, Harry Styles of One Direction wrote simply: "Congratulations to @J_Ennis and Mo Farah!! You heroes!!"
Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol echoed the sentiments of many when he said: "ENNISSSSSSSSSS!!!!!! GoSurely you should get more than one gold medal for winning the heptathlon. Well done Jessica Ennis. Amazing achievement. on girl."
Whilst John McLure of Reverend and The Makers showed his local pride, Tweeting: "all hail the queen of Sheffield @J_Ennis #GOLD"
Yesterday's medal haul brings Team GB up to third on the Olympic leader board behind the USA and China with 29 medals, including 14 golds.
