Damon Albarn has suggested that he would be interested in making a new Blur album if it were attached to a film.

The rumours surrounding new Blur material are neverending, particularly with the group reuniting again for a series of gigs this Summer, including a huge date in London's Hyde Park.

However, Albarn has never given any sense of what it would take for him to record a full album with Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree. Speaking to XFM ahead of the release of Blur's career-spanning '21' boxset, Albarn revealed that a movie soundtrack would interest him greatly.

“Hyde Park is definitely our last gig in this country this year and probably for a long time," he said.

Adding: “But that doesn’t mean it’s the end of Blur. If someone wanted us to do an album for a film I’d definitely be interested in something like that. So that’s the offer.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Albarn poked fun at Black Eyed Peas man Will.i.am and his sartorial style.

“I mean, Will.i.am was a miserable old sod. Wearing his own stuff — what is that all about?, he joked. "Never wearing anything other than this quasi-Star Trek, slightly rubbery bondage kind of stuff. Is there never a day when he wears an old T-shirt?”

Blur returned to London earlier this week to play a tiny London date at Oxford Street's 100 Club. Read the Gigwise review of the show here.
