Folk-rockers Mumford & Sons have premiered the first single from their second album Babel, 'I Will Wait'. Listen to the track below.
'I Will Wait' was premiered last night (7 August, 2012) on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show. 'I Will Wait' is released on 24 September, the same day as the follow up to their award winning debut album, Sigh No More.
The album is set to include tracks including ‘Whispers In The Dark’, ‘Lover Of The Light’, ‘Below My Feet’, ‘Lovers’ Eyes’ and ‘Hopeless Wanderer - all of which have been performed by the band at live shows over the past year.
'I Will Wait' is an uptempo track, led by a banjo refrain and of course, Marcus Mumford's heartfelt vocals. The track was produced by Marcus Drave after recording sessions in Devon, Somerset, Northamptonshire, and London.
Band member Ben Lovett gave the NME an update on Babel in June of this year.
"We're just finishing up the album now, as anyone who's kept up to date on what we're doing will be fully aware of," he told the magazine. "Not much to report, it's the same stage as we were a year ago because there's still no record. But we're aware of what it is now and we're excited about getting it out there."
He also added that the band did not feel under pressure to match the success of their first album, despite the many fans desperate to hear the new record.
"There's no pressure. We're just a band from London," he continued. "The fact that the first record did well was great, but it didn't make our lives. It's just a by-product of what we do, which is record music and play gigs."
