Aaliyah's family have spoken out against rapper Drake's reported plans to record an album featuring his sister's vocals.

Drake, who has a tattoo of Aaliyah on his back, released the song 'Enough Said' over the weekend with the belief inside the music industry being that a full album of posthumous collaborations is in the pipeline.

Speaking out against the plan to exploit his late sister's work, Rashad Haughton has said: "There is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family."

Meanwhile, the family took to Facebook to make their feelings clear, writing: "Do you want a [new] Aaliyah album?" they posted. "If so, who should executive produce it or be featured on it? The Haughton family would love to hear what her FANS have to say."

Producer Timbaland, who worked with Aaliyah throughout her career, also criticised Drake's plans saying: "I know they are trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if Drake does it, it should be with me and him and Missy Elliott. I don't know what's going on. The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. For it to be on his record, that would not be right."

However, he has reportedly been approached since the release of 'Enough Said' on Sunday (Aug 6) and will now reportedly work on two songs for the album.

Aaliyah died following a fatal plane crash in 2001.
