A 'friend' of Madonna has revealed the star does not care about Elton John's recent verbal attack on the star.
Elton John hit the headlines (and raised a few eyebrows) when he called Madonna a 'fairground stripper' and said her career was 'over' after her MDNA tour, which he discribed as a 'disaster'.
Now, an insider from Madonna's camp has hit back at Elton John's tongue-lashing.
"I honestly do not understand his need to trash the crap out of her over and over again," says the unnamed individual, who claims to be a friend of Madonna. "He says she has no authority, but apparently he has authority? He needs to hate on her.
"To say her tour is a disaster is just silly. She is selling out arenas, singing new material and a few classic hits. He will be singing the same old songs until he dies."
"Ultimately, she doesn't care what he has to say about her in public or private," the 'friend' added. "She has nothing to prove to anyone, especially Elton John."
Madonna and Elton have had a long-running feud, with the 'Rocket Man' star saying Madonna would never win a Golden Globe for her track 'Masterpiece' earlier in 2012. She did, of course...
