This year's series of X Factor is set to start next weekend (18 August, 2012), as the talent show returns once again to ruin all ideas of a Saturday night social life.
The new series of the show begins on Sunday 18 August and will dominate viewing schedules, conversations, headlines and modern life until Christmas. You may as well put the tree up now.
Gary Barlow returns to the show along with Tulisa and Louis Walsh - and newcomer Nicole Scherzinger replaces Kelly Rowland, who bowed out after a seat on the panel in 2011.
Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora will appear in the early stage of the show as guest judges, since Scherzinger's role on the show was not confirmed until shooting the series was well underway.
Last year's winners Little Mix are set to make their full pop debut with new single 'Wings' while second runner up Amelia Lily also has her new single, 'You Bring Me Joy' ready for release.
2011 runner-up Marcus Collins has already seen his career falter, after his debut single and album failed to set the world on fire.
