In a low act of desperation, former Big Brother contestant Kenneth Tong has launched a vile Twitter assault on Gary Barlow, mocking the star's recent loss of daughter Poppy.
Gary Barlow and wife Dawn were recently revealed to be heartbroken at fourth baby Poppy being delivered stillborn earlier this week, and after a week of tributes from fans and fellow stars alike, a man named Kenneth Tong has launched a string of vile tweets aimed at the Take That frontman.
The jaw-dropping tweets were posted on 7 August 2012 and can be viewed on Tong's Twitter page. The offensive tweets mock Barlow's loss and remain visible to see. The former Big Brother star has nearly 180,000 followers, many of whom were offended by his remarks, including calls for Tong to be jailed.
"Nothing would make me happier today than seeing Kenneth Tong going to prison," said celebrity journalist and TV personality Jamie East. "What an absolutely hateful, hateful human being."
X Factor judge and friend of Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh, tweeted: "Kenneth Tong shouldn't be allowed to tweet such horrible things. His tweets to Gary Barlow are horrific & disrespectful to the lowest level."
Tong could face up to six months in jail for his tweets under the 2003 Communications Act, which states an individual is guilty of a crime if he "sends by means of a public electronic communications network a message or other matter that is grossly offensive or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character."
