Gary Barlow is set to honour his Olympic commitments and take to the stage at the London 2012 closing ceremony, following the tragic loss this week of daugher Poppy, who was stillborn.

The Take That singer and his wife Dawn this week announced the loss of their fourth child, who was stillborn. Take That are scheduled to perform at the end of the Olympic Games, and Gary Barlow is still set to perform with bandmtes Robbie Williams, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Howard Donald.

"The band have been there for him and totally understand if he doesn't do the gig," says a source to The Sun newspaper. "Take That are on the running order and the organisers are prepared for all eventualities, but they all know Gary will be determined to perform."

The news of the Barlows' loss was revealed on Monday, 6 August, when the couple announced in a statement: "Dawn and I are devastated to announce that we’ve lost our baby. Poppy Barlow was delivered stillborn on August 4th in London. Our focus now is giving her a beautiful funeral and loving our three children with all our hearts. We’d ask at this painful time that our privacy be respected."

Barlow later thanked fans for the support shown, taking to Twitter to say: "Your kind words and lovely messages are overwhelming. thank you."

Take That will be joined by The Spice Girls, Jessie J, Muse, Queen and many more performers at Sunday's night's spectacular show.
