Kate Bush has praised the London 2012 closing ceremony in a typically brief and vague statement.
The star was rumoured to be performing at the event, but instead a new version of her track 'Running Up That Hill' was played in the Olympic stadium.
A new statement on Kate Bush's website discusses the track's use in the ceremony.
The statement reads:
"Hi there,
I hope you all enjoyed the remix of Running Up That Hill this evening at the Olympics Closing Ceremony. They certainly put on a brilliant show.
Kate"
Kate Bush is currently the music artist who has benefitted most from the closing ceremony, with 'Running Up That Hill' set for a Top Ten placing this weekend.
Other artists to have received a chart boost from the ceremony include John Lennon and Emeli Sande.
