Music stars and more have shared their support for Gary Barlow's performance at the London 2012 closing ceremony.

Barlow closed the spectacular London event last night with a performance of his track 'Rule The World', alongside bandmates Howard Donald, Mark Owen and Jason Orange. His performance came just days after the announcement that his fourth child, daughter Poppy, had been delivered stillborn.

Following the show, stars flocked to their Twitter accounts to speak of their support for the Take That star.

"I don't know how Gary Barlow does it. Amazing. What a guy, seriously brave," Tweeted Lily Allen.

Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh added: "Gary Barlow. Should be any kid's role model. After what he went through this week, this is incredible."

Gary Barlow's X Factor colleague Louis Walsh told fans: "Gary Barlow and Take That will be performing at the#OlympicClosingCeremony. RETWEET this to show respect to him in this tough time... "

Comedian and Britain's Got Talent judge David Walliams called Barlow a 'national treasure', tweeting: "Gary Barlow. A brave man. And a national treasure,' while Lily wrote: 'I don't know how Gary Barlow does it. #amazing"

Barlow and wife Dawn made the tragic announcement about daughter Poppy last week, and later had to deal with a string of sickening jokes made about the loss of their daughter by an ex Big Brother contestant.
