Damon Albarn frontman has lavished praise on double Olympic champion Mo Farah, saying he believes the long distance runner represents London better than anybody.

Farah, who won gold in both the 10,000 and 5,000 metres at this year's Games, has become famous for both his OIympic success as well as his signature Mobot move, touching his head with both hands to create an 'M' shape.

After paying tribute to Farah at Blur's Hyde Park gig this weekend, a gig riddled with complaints from fans about sound issues, Albarn spoke to The Sun, explaining his feelings for the runner.

“Mo was superb." he said. "It was the most beautiful story of the Games, with him coming from Somalia as a child. He represents modern London – and it made my life easy for a minute on stage. "

Adding: “The easiest bit of the whole gig was getting everybody to do the Mobot.”

Meanwhile, Blur revealed yesterday how they received just £1 for their appearance at the Olympic Games closing party in London.
