Staffordshire police have issued a warning to V Festival-goers headed to this weekend's event, saying they have a zero tolerance approach towards drugs.
Security details at the event have been revealed, with festival goers being subjected to a police search on arrival and CCTV monitoring every inch of the 1000-acre festival site. Police have warned that anyone found taking or selling drugs would be dealt with harshly.
“Drugs are not welcome at V," says Event Commander Supt Dave Holdway. “If you take them, or attempt to sell them, you will be caught and dealt with.
“Drugs misuse is dangerous and causes a great deal of misery to the wider community and will not be tolerated. We want visitors to the festival to enjoy themselves in a safe, drug-free environment.”
The Killers and The Stone Roses are among the big names performing at this weekend's Chelmsford and Staffordshire event. Both events are set to experience hot and humid weather, with a mix of hot temperatures and heavy downpours forecast.
