After today's midweek chart update, it has been revealed that thanks to Emeli Sande's performance at the Olympic closing ceremony, her album has re-taken the top spot on the UK chart, and threatens to overtake Adele's '21' as the biggest selling album of 2012.
In order for 'Our Version of events' to usurp Adele it needs to maintain it's current post-Olympic sales boost, but at the moment it is just 39,000 copies behind '21'.
'21' has sold over 22 million copies worldwide, so Sande has a long way to go to eclipse that, however she deatures on six of the 78 opening and closing ceremony tracks which look set to feature heavily in the weekend's chart.
