V Festival weather: storms and sunshine predicted

Festival goers at this weekend's V Festival are set for a warm, dry experience - or a mix of storms and sunshine, depending on which location they are headed.

Festival goers at the Chelmsford site are set for a sun-drenched weekend, with unbroken sunshine predicted for Saturday and Sunday, after an overcast Friday.

Those heading to the Stafford site however, are set for a slightly more soggy V Festival experience, with heavy rain predicted on the Friday. Saturday is set to be dry but overcast, while Sunday will be an uncomfortable mix of sunshine and heavy showers.

Attendees at neither site will see performances from Dappy or Frank Ocean this weekend, with both having pulled out of their scheduled performances at the festival. Neither has specified full reasons for cancelling their slot, but it is thought Dappy has chosen not to appear in order to spend the weekened working on his debut album. Frank Ocean has been replaced by Wiley and Dappy has been replaced by The Charlatans.

Earlier this week, police issued a stern warning to anyone hoping to take drugs into V Festival.
