The xx and Richard Hawley have revealed plans to work with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the BBC Philharmonic Presents... festival.
The 2010 Mercury Music Prize winners will also write a new song to perform at their show, part of the second 'BBC Philharmonic Presents... festival'.
Additionally, the festival will see Hawley for the first time play his songs backed by an orchestra.
The xx show will take place by the sea in Bridlington on September 19 in collaboration with composer Alex Baranowski.
Baranowski told the BBC that the show would feature "a mixture of arrangements" of The xx's songs "along with some new orchestral material".
Tickets for the free concerts, which will also include the music Miles Davis and James Bond films, can be applied for by public ballot.
Ren Harvieu is set to perform at the James Bond show, which will be hosted by DJ Simon Mayo and film critic Mark Kermode and broadcast live on Radio 5.
Other shows in the series will take place in various venues in the North of England and in the BBC Philharmonic studio in the BBC's Media City premisis in Salford.
Last year's concert series saw a "dubstep symphony" performed by dance act Nero and the orchestra.
The xx posted new song 'Chained' online from their new album 'Coexist' last week, which can be heard below. The 11-track album is set for release on September 10th.
