Tom Chaplin of Keane has revealed that he is working on a solo album and plans to release it soon.

The Keane frontman, who slammed modern pop music earlier this year, has never done anything away from the band but is hard at work on his new project, telling the Daily Star about the project.

"When I release my songs it will be as a solo project. In Keane we know what we do best and what our roles are, so it’d make sense for me to put my songs out separately to the band,”  he said.

Talking about the sound of his solo work, Chaplin added: “Lyrically, they’re very direct, as Tim’s are. They’re probably too explicit, as they document what’s been going on inside my head for the past seven years.”

However, worry not Keane fans, Chaplin assures everyone that the band are going nowhere.
