'Starships' rapper Nicki Minaj has been forced to cancel her scheduled performance at this year's V Festival at the last minute, as ongoing 'vocal cord issues' forced her to pull out of the event.
The 'Starships' rapper was scheduled to perform at both Stafford and Chelmsford, headlining the 4Music stage, but on going voice problems forced her to cancel at the last minute.
"Despite having thought she had overcome her vocal cord issues from earlier in the week," said a statement from V Festival. "Having revisited her doctor she has now been advised to rest for a week, which unfortunately means that she is no longer able to perform at V Festival."
She has been replaced at the festival by LMFAO.
Minaj's appearance at V came under question earlier in the week when she revealed she had lost her voice following a string of shows in the US.
"It's official, my voice is GONE! I swear it held up just to spk to uguys last nite! Mind over matter. The mind is so powerful… It was all worth it for what I experienced w/u guys last night tho. Wouldn't change a thing," she Tweeted.
British rapper Dappy also pulled out of V Festival this week, to be replaced by The Charlatans, while Frank Ocean also cancelled his slot, with chart topper Wiley stepping into his place.
