Ten people have been arrested after a man was found beaten to death close to V Festival in Chelmsford.

Police were called to a property on the A414 near the Hylands Park festival site where a man was found dead in the garden. Ten people were arrested on suspicion of murder and are today (19 August 2012) being questioned by police about the incident.

"Detectives have launched a murder inquiry in Chelmsford," said a spokeswoman for Essex police. "Police were called by the ambulance service just after midnight and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of a 39-year-old man who was found in the rear garden of a house on the A414, London Road, Chelmsford, opposite Hylands Park.

"His next of kin have been informed. Ten men have been arrested by police on suspicion of murder and they will be interviewed to ascertain their involvement in the man's death."

A man was also found dead in his tent in the early hours of Sunday morning at Weston Park in Shropshire.

90,000 fans have packed into the two sites at Stafford and Chelmsford this weekend to see the likes of The Killers, The Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher.

Nicki Minaj cancelled her performance at the show due to voice problems and was replaced by LMFAO.
