Bestival organiser Rob da Bank has revealed he would 'hang up his headphones' when his audiences began throwing bottles of urine at the festival.

The DJ, and man behind one of the UK's most cherished festival events spoke of disapproval of aggressive festival audiences after Cher Lloyd was bottled and booed at V Festival.

"When the first bottle of piss is thrown at Bestival I might just hang up my headphones and give up," Rob da Bank tells Gigwise. "There's never an excuse for bottling an artist at a festival. Not even in a joking way."

"I've been at Oasis concerts and seen bottles of piss thrown around and it's not a pleasant experience. That's awful for an artist."

However, despite feeling sympathy for the X Factor singer, he reveals he is in no rush to book her to perform at a future Bestival, despite a love for British pop music.

"I wouldn't book Cher Lloyd for Bestival because I know no one would want to see her," he adds. "I do book pop music and I have Stooshe and Rizzle Kicks on the line up this year, i've had Will Young in the past. Pop music is pop music and i'm very proud to support great pop music. Stooshe isn't necessarily my thing but a lot of people will enjoy it and a lot of kids come from Isle Of Wight come just to see that.

"I wouldn't risk the wrath of booking Cher Lloyd."

Bestival takes place on 7-9 September. Tickets for Bestival 2012 are close to selling out. Visit Gigwise Gig Tickets for more information.
