Rising British r&b duo AlunaGeorge have revealed they don't want to hear a new Aaliyah album, after rumours that Drake was working on a new collection.

The 'Take Care' star is said to be working with unreleased demos by the star, who died in 2001. In a new interview with Gigwise, duo Aluna Francis and George Reid said there was a reason why certain tracks remain unheard and spoke of their sadness at the prospect of a new Aaliyah album.

"I personally don't rate the idea much," says producer Reid. "If he is digging up old songs that were never finished or didn't see the light of day, there's a good chance there is a reason they never saw the light of day.

"It happens all the time. Bands with deceased members suddenly come back with a catalogue of unheard music happens a lot, it's not that good. It's a tricky one. It would be nice to hear her voice again on something new.

Singer Aluna added: "There's always going to be a certain sadness linked to that music. I remember listening to the stuff that was released just after she died. I only listened to it once, because I don't like the idea of her not being in charge of it. It's creepy."

A 'new' track by Aaliyah, which has been produced by Drake premiered recently, but despite a good reaction from fans, Aaliyah's family distanced themselves from the track, while Aaliyah's former producers Timbaland and Missy Elliot said they should be involved in any new material.
