Grimes has revealed the dazzling new video for her single 'Genesis' today, which you can see on Gigwise now.

The song, taken from Grimes' latest album 'Visions', is now accompanied by a visually staggering self-directed video which sees Claire Boucher handling snakes, waving ancient weapons above her head and generally living in what looks like anime come to life.

The reveal of the video comes just days after Boucher spoke out about her feelings on the Russian givernment, labelling them 'f*cked up' over the jailing of Pussy Riot last week.

Speaking to NME, Boucher said: "I went to school in Russia for a while, so I'm very familiar with it. It's funny to me because I think a lot of people are just realising now how f*cked up Russia is, and like, I'm not surprised at all that that situation is happening. I think it's something that happens more than people know."

Adding: " It's going to be a matter of time before things die off. But it's still a really racist, homophobic place."

Boucher has, however, since taken to Twitter to maintain she was criticising the government only, and holds affection for Russia itself.
