Green Day have performed at Reading Festival, taking to the NME stage at 11am.

The band confirmed their early performance time after rumours of an appearance were confirmed earlier this week. The band will perform their classic album Dookie in full, including tracks such as 'When I Come Around', 'Basketcase' and 'Welcome To Paradise'.

Rumours circulated online earlier this week when photos of a tour t-shirt from Japan showed a date at this weekend's Reading festival. Billie Joe Armstrong had previously hinted at a performance at the festival when he tweeted: "Hello England! What rhymes with shredding??!!"

He later dropped strong hints during an interview with Zane Lowe on Radio One.

Also performing today on the main stage are Kasabian, Florence + The Machine, The Vaccines, Enter Shikari, The Shins, OFWKGKTA, Mystery Jets, Blood Red Shoes and Los Campesinos.
