Green Day thrilled fans on Saturday of this year's Reading Festival as they performed their 1994 album Dookie in full. Watch a video of 'Welcome To Paradise' below.

The band confirmed their early performance time after rumours of an appearance were confirmed earlier this week.

Rumours circulated online earlier this week when photos of a tour t-shirt from Japan showed a date at this weekend's Reading festival. Billie Joe Armstrong had previously hinted at a performance at the festival when he tweeted: "Hello England! What rhymes with shredding??!!"

Rachel Wood tweeted: "i could happily go home now, i don't need to see anymore bands. Green Day are literally amazing!!!"

"I guess i can say I've seen Green Day... AND THEY WERE SICK," tweeted Irandeep Thind.

Sophie Alessandro appeared to be in a state of disbelief after seeing the peformance, saying: "I can't believe i just saw green day, i just can't."

Chris Jenkins put it simply: "Green day were so so f*cking unbelievably good."

Sarah Gardner said similarly: "Green-fucking-day. Omfg. Wow."
