Creamfields festival has been cancelled after flooding on site made the event unsafe, and organisers told ticket holders not to turn up for the second day of the festival.
The annual dance festival, which takes place in Daresbury, Cheshire, was due to see performances from Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Tiesto and Groove Armada today (Aug 26) following yesterday's headline slot from Avicii and David Guetta.
A statement on the Creamfields website warns festival goers to not turn up to the site, stating that the event has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.
The statement posted online by Creamfields organisers reads: "Following heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours, significant and heavy flooding is affecting the Creamfields arena near Warrington.
"No serious casualties have been reported and Cheshire police and partner agencies are supporting event organisers in ensuring the safety and welfare of festival goers during this time.
"All customers wishing to come to the festival today are advised that the event entrances are now closed.
"No entry to the festival is permitted from this point for all ticket types and ticket-holders, further updates will follow."
Heavy rain throughout the night is being blamed for the cancellation with those already onsite told to go home by Cheshire police. Extra public transport is being laid on for those affected.
