Two Door Cinema Club have been forced to add a second date in Washington D.C. to their upcoming US tour after Barack Obama bought all the tickets for their first gig.

It is believed that Obama is a fan of the Irish three piece and has bought out the majority of tickets for the 9:30 Club gig as a treat to his staff. The band have now added a second date for fans unable to get tickets before Obama.

Speaking to The Sun about the band's incredibly famous new fan, a source revealed the band are happy to feature on the President's iPod.

"Alex was delighted to hear their US gig had been practically booked out by Barack and his team," the source said.

"He thinks it's mad the President of the United States has their tunes on his iPod. You can't get a much bigger fan than that."

Two Door Cinema Club recently streamed their new album 'Beacon' online ahead of its September release.

The band also performed at Reading and Leeds festivals this past weekend.
