Example has revealed that coming clean about his lifestyle left his family shaken and his Father in tears.
'Changed The Way You Kiss Me' star Example has a reputation as one of the biggest party animals in music and inevitably his family discovered the extent to which their son was living.
Speaking to The Sun about the moment he came clean, though not divulging just what he had been up to, Example said: “My mum and dad found out some of the sh*t I was doing a few years back and, I’m not going to lie, were really disappointed. "
“We are a close family and I really look up to my dad. To see the disappointment in his eyes, that’s hard. When he found out I was behaving in a certain way, and the people I was hanging with, he wasn’t happy. I saw him cry. There is nothing worse."
Adding: "I told my dad how I had been living and he was upset. I just thought to myself, ‘I don’t want to let my mum and dad down any more."
Example will release new album 'The Evolution Of Man' later in the year, the album features a number of songs co-written with Blur guitarist Graham Coxon.
A huge UK arena tour for 2013 has also been confirmed with tickets going on sale last week.
