Orbital capped a memorable Paralympic Opening ceremony in London last night when they performed Ian Dury's 'Spasticus Autisticus' with the help of Professor Stephen Hawking.

The electronic duo performed in a music heavy opening ceremony, which also saw a huge choreographed routine performed to Rihanna's 'Umbrella' early on.

However, it was the performance of 1981 hit 'Spasticus Autisticus' which really grabbed the attention

A live performance of Ian Dury's 1981 track 'Spasticus Autisticus' featured in the Paralympic Games opening ceremony last night (August 29).  Using a sample of Hawking's voice, the Professor made a speech at the start of the ceremony, Orbital were also joined by the Graeae Theatre Company.

Teen singer Birdy made an appearance too, performing 'Bird Gerhl' by Antony Hegarty whilst Beverley Knight sang the Gloria Gaynor hit 'I Am What I Am'.

The Paralympic Games runs for two weeks with Coldplay confirmed to appear at the closing ceremony, with a rumoured guest appearance by Rihanna.
