Chris Brown is set to avoid any potential drama at the MTV Video Music Awards next month by not appearing in any capacity.
It was rumoured that Brown would possibly presnt an award or even perform with ex-girlfriend Rihanna as the couple continue to test the public reaction to them being a couple once more.
However, that has been ruled out with a spokesperson denying MTV's thirst for drama.
"[The producers] are hoping a fight breaks out. Ratings galore," a source told Gossip Cop.
Meanwhile, Brown's spokesperson has confirmed his client will not be at the Staples Centre on September 6th saying, "[Chris] will not be at the VMAs in any capacity."
Additionally, there was the issue of rival rapper Drake being at the VMAs as well. That would have marked the first meeting of Brown and Drake since their New York bar brawl earlier this year.
