Emeli Sandé's album 'Our Version of Events' has overtaken 2012 sales of Adele's '21' to become the biggest-selling of the year so far in the UK.

Released in February, Sandé's album has since sold almost 660,000 copies in the UK, according to Music Week.

Adele's second album, however, has sold 657,000 copies during 2012 and 4.4 million in total since it's 2011 release.

Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' album is the year's third best selling album, followed by Ed Sheeran's '+' and Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto.

But by far the biggest selling record of the year so far is 'Now That's What I Call Music! 81' with more than 700,000 copies sold.

'Our Version of Events' currently sits at number 3 in the midweek album charts after scoring a fifth non-consecutive week at the top on Sunday (26 August).

A repackaged version of Sandé's album is set to be released in future, including two new songs not on the original version - 'Breaking the Law' and 'Easier in Bed'.

Sandé is set to play the Royal Albert Hall in November as part of her biggest UK tour to date.

The singer recently revealed a new single with Naughty Boy which is due for release on 30 September - the video can be watched below.
