Rihanna and Lady Gaga have been criticised by PETA for their decision to continue wearing fur, despite the bad treatment many animals go through in the process of making the clothes.
The comments come following Rihanna being spotted wearing snake skin boots whilst partying in London.
Making reference to Rihanna's recent interview in which she opened up about her violent relationship with ex-Chris Brown, a PETA rep said: "Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can't go on Oprah to cry about it," they said.
Adding: "Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch... She and Lady Gaga seem so desperate to be freaks instead of recognized for their talents that you have to wonder if they realize that they are being laughed at."
PETA have previously made outspoken comments about 'turncoat' Lady Gaga, who has taken to wearing fur after initially supporting the charity, as well as claiming Rihanna trades primarily on her 'dubious looks'.
Meanwhile, Rihanna's latest trip to London looks set to be shrouded in disaster after the 'We Found Love' star was nearly thrown out of a nightclub in the early hours.
